LOCATION
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the completion of the WSNS Schoolyard renovation.
Big Picture: We transformed the former open expanse of cracked asphalt, devoid of any play features, into a new schoolyard with new play features and site furnishings, 30 new trees, and stormwater improvements.
Background: After a WSNS community and parents advocacy process started in 2016, CPA funds were approved for the design and the new schoolyard design was completed in 2022 after a one-year suspension in the community design process for the Covid Pandemic. ARPA funding was appropriated in late 2022, and the construction started in the spring of 2023 and was completed in September 2023
