This month, the library is pleased to present "Paint Your Pride!" a Community Art Show in the Gallery @ SPL!
About Paint Your Pride:
Expressing one’s pride in their individual identities is critical for one’s well-being. Asserting who we are is an act of self-love and self-care.
During the month of May patrons of the Somerville Public Library, and citizens of Somerville were given the opportunity to attend Library painting programs virtually and in-person, or pick up a paint kit and work on their own to participate in “Paint Your Pride.” Samples of design possibilities were presented to inspire the community, but participants were free to paint their Pride in any way that best expresses who they are.
The artwork displayed in our gallery this month are the result of those sessions, and we are so proud to present them to the public! Please stop by anytime in June to take a look at what our community has created, but we especially hope you will join us for this reception to celebrate the artists and their work.
