The Somerville Public Library in partnership with St. Mark Community Education Program is offering a free, 10-week U.S. Citizenship Preparation class this Spring. The class will prepare students for the citizenship interview including the 128 civics questions, the reading & writing sections, and interview questions based on their N-400 application. The class will be held in-person at Central Library (79 Highland Avenue) on 10 Saturdays from 10-12 from March 7-May 16.
For this class, we will be reviewing the new 128 civics questions list. Applicants who apply after October 20 will take this version of the civics test. If an applicant has applied before October 20, they will need to let us know since they will take the 100 civics questions version. If they're unsure, they can always reach out to me, and we can talk through it.
Requirements: Intermediate level of English and 5 years as a U.S. permanent resident (green card holder) or 3 years, if married to a US citizen.
Registration is required and space is limited: tinyurl.com/spring2026citizenshipclass
