LOCATION

We have the ‘paw-fect’ reason to celebrate. Community members and their furry friends are invited to a ribbon cutting for a dual water fountain for dogs and people

Rain date: Wednesday, June 3, from 3 to 4 p.m.

Somerville K9 Team dogs Fluff and Missy, will join the officials gathering with the community to mark the occasion.

The event marks the debut of the park’s newly installed dual drinking fountain, which includes separate spouts for dogs and people to keep both pups and their people refreshed through every game of fetch. Similar to other seasonal park fountains across the city, it will operate from May through September. We ask that dogs please be kept on a leash during the ceremony.

The water fountain is funded by Somerville’s Community Preservation Act (CPA), which provides $7 million in funding each year to support open space, recreation, historic preservation, and affordable housing projects. To learn more, visit somervillema.gov/cpa.
