About Música Criolla
Born from the blend of Indigenous, African, and Spanish rhythms, melodies, and expressions, Peruvian música criolla gained widespread popularity in the early to mid-20th century. Its Golden Era during the 1940s and 1950s established many of the classic songs and dances enjoyed today, including the Peruvian vals, marinera, tondero, polca criolla, and Afro-Peruvian festejo and landó.
