WENESDAY: DAR Commissioner Watson, State and Local Officials to Promote Healthy Eating at Davis Square Farmers’ Market
WHAT: Department of Agricultural Resources (DAR) Commissioner Greg Watson will be visiting the Davis Square Farmers’ Market in Somerville for the final stop of the 2014 Farmers’ Market Tour Series. The tour aims to promote Massachusetts’ farmers markets and raise awareness about healthy eating options for low-income residents across the Commonwealth. Farmers markets provide families and individuals who may not otherwise have access with an opportunity to purchase nutritious food using SNAP/EBT benefits.
