Dancing to Mozart's Requiem: Scores, Recordings and Choreography

Last February, Choreographer Nicole Pierce and her dance-theater
company EgoArt, Inc. performed “REQUIEM,” a full-length multimedia dance
piece at the historic Cyclorama at Boston Center for the Arts in
Boston’s South End. The performance marked over 2 years of research,
rehearsal and development. With a background in classical piano, dance
and multimedia, Pierce will present her unique process for creating this
work including listening to samples of various recordings, a brief
review of the history of the Requiem itself (unfinished at the time of
Mozart’s death) and video excerpts from the performance. A notable and
engaging public speaker, Nicole Pierce will amuse the eyes and ears of
music and dance lovers as well as children and adults alike.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
