LOCATION

Please join us for a community discussion on the how we as a community can better understand the challenges of addiction and what supports are available.  Rivkah Lapidus, Clinical Psychologist and Mark Albanese, M.D. will facilitate the discussion.  Rivkah is a Clinician currently at Right Turn and Mark is the Director of Addiction Services for Cambridge Health Alliance.

It can be confusing and overwhelming confronting addiction and then trying to understand and access services and treatment options.  Both Rivkah and Mark have many years of experience working in the field of addictions from methadone clinics, psychotherapy; individual and group treatment of adults as well as adolescents.  This discussion will be an opportunity to share perspectives; address misconceptions; stigma; common treatment dilemmas and increase understanding of perspectives from both the clinician and client.   We will discuss the “culture” of addictions; language and common terminology to begin to demystify the process of accessing help.

This is a free workshop; however registration is required.  To register contact Patty Contente at 617-625-6600 ext. 4325 or pcontente@somervillema.gov.  Please provide your name, email address and or phone # and address.
