Please join us for a discussion of our
local data related to overdoses and substance use and how we as a community;
family and peers can better understand the challenges of addiction and how we
can support recovery. This discussion will be an opportunity to share
perspectives; address misconceptions; stigma; common treatment dilemmas and
focus on harm reduction strategies to reduce risk of overdose.
Rivkah Lapidus will talk about the
mind body connection and alternative approaches to managing pain. Rivkah is a
longtime Somerville resident, clinical psychologist and artist with a broad
range of experience working in the field of addiction.
Aids Action Needle Exchange Overdose
Prevention Program will address helpful conversations to increase safety for
individuals still struggling with addiction including overdose prevention and
narcan training. Narcan will also be available for anyone
interested.
A light dinner and refreshments will
be served beginning at 5:30. Please RSVP by September 20th to Patty
