 Youth Body Image

 

PLEASE COME AND SHARE YOUR OPINION

 

 

Over 45% of
Somerville middle and high school students say they are trying to lose weight, while only about 24% of students describe themselves as being slightly overweight.

27.9% of
Somerville middle school students have already tried a diet.

Should we be concerned?

 

 

A Café style discussion for parents, grandparents, children, teachers, counselors, mentors and community members to discuss how Somerville youth perceive their bodies and how we can promote a healthy lifestyle and body image.

 

 

 

“Café Conversations are an easy-to-use method for creating a living network of collaborative dialogue around questions that matter in service of the real work…. Most Café conversations are based on the principles and format developed by The World Café (see www.theworldcafe.com), a growing global movement to support conversations that matter in corporate, government, and community settings around the world.” 1
