Vote Early in Somerville’s Municipal Election at City Hall Oct. 28-30

Make your voice heard, on your schedule. Early voting for the City of Somerville’s Municipal Election begins next week from Tuesday, October 28, to Thursday, October 30, at City Hall (93 Highland Ave.) during regular business hours. Full schedule is below: 

• October 28 – Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• October 29 – Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• October 30 – Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Somerville’s Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. If not voting early, there’s still time to make your voting plan.  

Key Election Reminders 

Register to Vote by this Friday, October 24. 

Register to vote online until midnight, in person at City Hall (93 Highland Ave.) until 5 p.m., or by calling the Elections Department (617-625-6600 ext. 4200) and requesting a voter registration form, which must be postmarked by October 24. 

Vote by Mail: Apply by Tuesday, October 28 at 5 p.m. 
Apply online at somervillema.gov/votebymail, pick one up in the Elections office at City Hall, or request one be mailed to you by calling Elections at 617-625-6600 ext. 4200. 

Absentee Ballots: Apply by October 28 at 5 p.m. for a mail in ballot or Vote in person before November 3 at 12 p.m. noon in the Elections office. 

Review absentee voter eligibility and download the application at somervillema.gov/absenteevoting. Applications may be submitted in person, by mail, fax, or by e-mail (elections@somervillema.gov). 

Items on the Ballot: 

Offices on the ballot include Mayor, Councilor At Large, Ward Councilors, and School Committee members. There are also three local ballot questions including a question asking voters to accept or reject the proposed new City Charter. To view sample ballots and read the local ballot questions, visit somervillema.gov/sampleballots.
