Central Broadway Streetscape Improvements Discussion
Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Ward 4 Alderman Tony Lafuente, and the Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development (OSPCD) invite all interested community members to the second in a series of meetings to discuss the Central Broadway Streetscape Improvements Project. On Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., attendees will hear the results of the recent traffic analysis, and about preliminary concepts for the project. The meeting will be held at the Healey School cafeteria, 5 Meacham Street.

Energy Use Commission Seeks Commissioners
The City of Somerville's Commission on Energy Use and Climate Change (CEUCC) is currently seeking new commissioners.The CEUCC advises the City and the Mayor's Office of Sustainability and Environment on climate change and energy policy issues, including upcoming sustainability initiatives such as the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change impacts, innovative approaches to energy efficiency, and community outreach and education on climate change and energy. The CEUCC typically meets one weeknight per month at 7 p.m.

Candlelight Vigil for Domestic Violence 10/1
Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and the Somerville Commission for Women announce the Annual Candlelight Vigil in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Wednesday, October 1 at 6 p.m. at the Somerville Public Safety Building, 220 Washington Street. The vigil walk begins at 6 p.m. through Union Square, concluding with a speaking agenda at the Public Safety Building at 6:30 p.m. City and local agencies will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. with informational materials and to answer questions.
