The Somerville Office of Immigrant Affairs (SOIA), in partnership with Fabville, will be hosting a celebration of mothers on May 1st, 5-8 p.m., in Portuguese for youth 10 years and older to come with their families and create a special present for Mother's Day.

Virtual Small Business Office Hours

Virtually join the Small Business Office Hours,  held Thursdays from 4:00-5:00PM. Join in to talk to city staff from Economic Development, Licensing, and ISD to discuss any questions regarding permits, licenses, or your business. Attendees will be held in a waiting room and admitted to speak with staff in order of which they joined the call. 

Middlesex Canal Commission Meeting

A Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Middlesex Canal Commission is called for Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Meeting to be held only by Zoom, pursuant to Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2025. Instructions on how to join the Meeting are found below.

Since 2010, The Welcome Project has brought together food, community, and advocacy at YUM: A Taste of Immigrant City - an annual night of fun and fundraising for programs that benefit immigrants in Somerville and Greater Boston.

Mayor Summer Jobs Workshop Series - Interview Skills

In preparation for the 2026 Mayor Summer Jobs Program, the City of Somerville Health and Human Services Department is hosting a series of FREE workshops to prepare youth for the job application process. A resume building workshop on March 18th, an Interview Skills workshop on April 29th, and a Financial Literacy workshop on May 27th.

Stepping Up Your Nutrition (Council on Aging)

This eight week series will focus on ways we can each step up our nutrition. Topics will include: the importance of muscles for strength, key nutrients for older adults, particularly protein and fluid, knowing how nutrition affects the risks of falling and how to determine personal nutrition for a better lifestyle.
