About the Snow Shoveling Program

The Somerville Teen Shoveling program is a paid program for teens to shovel out seniors and homeowners with disabilities after a snowstorm in Somerville. Teens and homeowners are paired for the season. After each storm, the homeowner contacts their assigned teen to request shoveling services.

Earn Money Shoveling (Teens)

Want to make some extra cash this winter?

Get paid for each house shoveled after a snowstorm.

  • Program is available for teens 13+
  • Teens 18 or older must complete and submit an Application Form and a CORI form
  • Teens will be assigned one or more homes and homeowners will contact their assigned teens after each storm
  • Teens can shovel as many locations as they have time for
  • Snowblowers may not be used by program participants

*In case of extremely heavy snowfalls, prices may change or you may not be able to do all of the jobs. Talk with the program coordinator to learn more.

**Driveway spots and street spots will be shoveled but snow removal from an actual vehicle is the owner's responsibility.

Need a little help keeping your property shoveled?

Apply for assistance from the Somerville Teen Snow Shoveling Program!

Signing up is easy! To take part in the Snow Shoveling Referral Program, you must submit an Application Form and a CORI form to the Council on Aging's Holland Street Center at 167 Holland St. You must appear at the Holland Street Center in person with a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport). You may print and complete the forms ahead of time and bring them with you if you wish, or the forms can be completed in person.
