Pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 87, the City of Somerville will hold a public hearing on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the Somerville High School Library, 81 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA. to consider the removal of the following public shade tree(s):
- Canal Street – Removal of 3 Princeton elm trees (6.7 inch, 6.4 inch, and 6.3 inch diameter) across from 300 Canal Street at the corner of Grand Union Boulevard for Assembly Square Block 5B development. This location will be replanted with 4 (four) 5-inch diameter Hornbeam trees.
- 30 Ivaloo Street – Removal of 1 (one) Norway maple tree (18.6 inches in diameter) that is severely restricting sidewalk accessibility.
The trees identified above have been posted for public inspection. In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 87, any objections to the removal of any of these trees must be submitted in writing to the City Urban Forester prior to or at the public hearing.
