Please join a special Bike Talk Virtual Hour presented by the OSPCD Mobility Division and the Somerville Bicycle Committee – Bike Network Planning: Lessons for Somerville. We will hear from Mike Lydon – a Principal at Street Plans, an acclaimed urban planning, design, architecture, and transportation planning firm. Mike is an internationally recognized planner, writer, speaker, and advocate for livable cities, working with Somerville as it develops an approach for citywide bicycle network planning and completes early action data analyses. At this talk, the bike network planning process will be introduced, we will hear about Street Plan’s approach to transportation planning and experience in bike network planning in other U.S. cities, see a snapshot of the existing conditions data collected and analyzed, and preview the full process being scoped out for Somerville in the coming months. A structured Q&A and audience polls will follow the presentation.
