Join the Somerville Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Committee (PTAC) for a walk on Tufts Street between Cross Street and Washington Street, starting at the entrance to the East Somerville Green Line Station on Washington Street (just past Joy Street).
Tufts Street will be repaved and the sidewalks reconstructed as part of the City's Pavement and Sidewalk Management Program. The City will take the opportunity to develop a new design that makes Tufts Street safer and more comfortable for people walking, rolling, biking, or driving. Tufts Street is an important connection to the East Somerville Green Line Station, and it is designated as a Neighborway on the Somerville Bicycle Network Plan. Alongside the City's efforts, the MBTA is planning to install a new crosswalk that includes a floating bus stop on Washington Street next to Tufts street to decrease the crossing distance and make the crosswalk more visible.
PTAC will be walking along Tufts Street to help generate feedback to inform the City's designs. Learn more about the project at somervillema.gov/tuftsstreet.
If applicable, any related agendas, minutes, audio/video recordings, and other materials will appear here.
