Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the City of Somerville Department of Veterans’ Services invite residents to a remembrance ceremony marking the anniversary of 9/11.
On Monday, September 11, the City will hold a procession and memorial ceremony to recognize the 22nd anniversary of 9/11. Anyone interested in joining the procession should meet at the Cedar Street entrance to the Community Path at 8:30 a.m. A speaking program and wreath laying ceremony will follow at approximately 9 a.m. at the 9/11 memorial in Davis Square, with the presentation and retiring of the colors by the Somerville Police and Somerville Fire Honor Guards. Persons with disabilities who need auxiliary aids and services for effective communication (i.e., CART, ASL), written materials in alternative formats, or reasonable modifications in policies and procedures in order to access the programs, activities, and meetings of the City of Somerville should please contact Adrienne Pomeroy at 617-625-6600 ext. 2059 or apomeroy@somervillema.gov.
