The City's Mobility Division will be hosting a meeting for Clarendon Towers residents to discuss the updated design for the West Broadway Reconstruction project. The City of Somerville is planning to reconstruct sidewalks and repave Broadway between Clarendon Ave and Alewife Brook Parkway (Route 16) as part of the Pavement and Sidewalk Management Program. We are also redesigning the street to make it safer for people walking, rolling, biking, taking buses, and driving.
On October 22, 2024, the City hosted an open house to share the updated design for the West Broadway Reconstruction project. Building off of the concept design released in April, the City further developed the design with the goals of enhancing safety, sustainability, and comfort. To learn more, check out the below materials:
- Check out the posters from the October 22 Open House detailing the project design elements
- Review the updated illustrative plan and dimensioned roll plan
- Check out the brochure providing descriptions for new street elements in the design and background on the project
- Watch a recording of the project team presenting about the updated design
On Wednesday, November 13, City staff will be hosting an in-person meeting at Clarendon Towers with residents to share similar information about the project and gather feedback on the changes to the design based on the community input previously heard.
