Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, the Somerville Arts Council, and the Gilman Square Neighborhood Council invite community members to SomerStreets: G’25 Gilman Square Arts & Music Festival on Saturday, September 13, from 12 to 5 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, September 14), with activities on Pearl Street from Marshall to James Street.

What began in 2018 as a neighborhood block party has blossomed into one of Gilman Square’s most anticipated celebrations of art, music, and community. The festival returns for its third year as part of the City of Somerville’s SomerStreets series, putting it among the ranks of Somerville’s most beloved open-streets events including Carnaval and Monster Mash.

Curated by the Gilman Square Neighborhood Council, the festival will feature live music, local artists and crafters, food vendors, family-friendly activities, and more. The mission of the Gilman Square Arts & Music Festival is to illuminate the vibrant, eclectic, and diverse creative culture of the Gilman Square neighborhood.

The Gilman Square Arts & Music Festival is the Neighborhood Council’s signature annual event, drawing crowds from across Somerville and beyond. From its grassroots beginnings to its place as a featured stop on the SomerStreets calendar, it continues to grow while keeping its heart in the community.

Save the date for G’25 and stay tuned for more details, a schedule of performers, vendors, and activities will be announced in the coming weeks.
