Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and Ward 3 City Councilor Ben Ewen-Campen invite community members to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the reinstallation of the Vietnam and Korean Wars Memorials on Central Hill.
The ceremony, co-hosted by and the Somerville Department of Veterans’ Services and Public Space and Urban Forestry Division, will take place on the lawn in front of Somerville High School (81 Highland Ave.). The rain date is Tuesday, October 21, from 11 a.m. to noon.
The Central Hill Veterans Memorials restoration project was a component of the new Somerville High School campus design. Coming out of an extensive community process, the vision for the site includes a memorial walk with reflective spaces honoring veterans in chronological order.
