Mayor’s Bike Ride Moved to Monday 10/18
Due to rainy weather forecast for Friday, 10/15, Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone’s 3.25-mile bike ride along many of Somerville’s new bike lanes and sharrows (which are roads marked to inform motorists to share the road with cyclists) has been moved to Monday, 10/18. The ride will start at the intersection of Powderhouse Bvld. and Curtis St., head east to College Ave, head south to Davis Sq. where it will turn onto the Community Path, then turn south on Cedar St., taking it all the way to Elm, before turning east on Somerville Ave. and finishing in Union Square.
In keeping with the Mayor’s vision of making Somerville a more livable and active community, the City has added 10 new miles of bike lanes/sharrows in 2010. All interested cyclists are encouraged to participate.
