SomerStreets Spooky “Monster Mash” Fest on 10/19
Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the Somerville Arts Council invite community members to close out the 2025 SomerStreets season with a festive and spooky Monster Mash on Sunday, October 19, from 2 to 6 p.m. on Somerville Avenue (School St. to Washington St.). In the event of rain, festivities will take place on Sunday, October 26.

Mayor’s Statement on Preliminary Injunction Decision in Chelsea–Somerville Lawsuit
In our federal lawsuit with Chelsea to protect our rights as a Welcoming City, we learned yesterday that the Court denied our motion for a preliminary injunction, finding that the threatened withdrawal of federal funding is not imminent enough at this time to warrant preliminary relief.
