Teen Empowerment and Somerville Overcoming Addiction is hosting the first in a series of mental wellness events. Host, and Mental Wellness Ambassador, Chris Sico will be leading us in this open mic where we encourage you to share pieces pertaining to mental health. There will also be a feature performance by poet Matt Ganem.

The Somerville Historic Preservation Commission will hold
a Special Meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Third
Floor Community Room, at the Visiting Nurses Association (259 Lowell
Street), to discuss the Historic Preservation Plan. This plan was
commissioned by the Community Preservation Commission (CPC) in 2014 to
Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and Ward 6 Alderman Rebekah L. Gewirtz invite all interested neighbors and community members to a meeting which will give an update to the progress made to identify the library's programing requirements and possible design options for the West Branch Library.
Beginning on Friday, Aug. 21, the City will pilot a "moveable furniture" project in Kenney Park in Davis Sq. The park, which was recently renovated, will now include additional, brightly colored café tables and chairs to enhance the public plaza.
