Stepping Up Your Nutrition (Council on Aging)

This eight week series will focus on ways we can each step up our nutrition. Topics will include: the importance of muscles for strength, key nutrients for older adults, particularly protein and fluid, knowing how nutrition affects the risks of falling and how to determine personal nutrition for a better lifestyle.

Her Stories, Our Somerville

Hosted by the Somerville Commission for Women (SCW) and the City’s Department of Racial and Social Justice, this event will elevate women’s voices and experiences through short, spoken word narratives. 

Flamenco (Council on Aging)

Intro to Flamenco dance for adult beginners. 

Flamenco is a Spanish dance style, passionate and full of moments of joy. Finger and body movements make us feel free to express ourselves and our feelings and the characteristic rhythm stimulates our heartbeat. 

Belly Dancing Program (Council on Aging)

Come experience the art of belly dancing with Celia! This unique program features a dazzling performance and mini lesson! You will enjoy a variety of upbeat rhythms, learn about the history of belly dance, and get the chance to try some fun beginner moves for yourself! General Exercise - Holland Street (Council on Aging)

Add some movement to your day! General Exercise is a chair-based fitness class with supported standing strength training and balance. We use a play ball, weights and resistance band to work on functional movement patterns. Enjoy moving to music while doing easy-to-follow cardio, mobility, strengthening and stretching exercises.
