In response to concerns over recent events involving anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and anti-immigrant rhetoric, Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, the City of Somerville’s Human Rights Commission, and Temple B’nai Brith of Somerville invite you to a community forum on White Nationalism, Community Response, and the Rule of Law.

What is climate justice? Why should Somerville residents care about climate change? How does and will it affect us, from the food we eat to the racial inequities we face? What can we do about it? The Green Team at Groundwork Somerville will host an interactive workshop for the Somerville community to learn about and discuss climate justice in our city and beyond.

The SPL Supper Club is a cookbook book club that meets on the last Monday of each month. The group has a potluck dinner party at Remnant Brewery celebrating the cookbook of the month. April’s cookbook of the month will be The New Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone, by Deborah Madison.

Curtatone, the Health & Human Services Department, and Somerville Animal Control are pleased to host the 19th Annual Rabies Clinic in the yard at the DPW Highway Garage on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. to noon. The City's annual rabies clinic gives residents an easy and affordable opportunity to have their dogs and cats vaccinated against the rabies virus.

Sponsored by the City of Somerville and stemming from the passage of Somerville's Urban Agriculture Ordinance, the first in New England, the 2019 Urban Ag Ambassador (UAA) program trains Somerville residents in urban agriculture in exchange for 30 hours of community volunteer service. The course is FREE of charge for accepted applicants.
