The annual Senior Picnic will be held at Powder House (Nathan Tufts) Park. The picnic includes lunch and raffles. There will be entertainment-including the Sunsetters, raffles from local businesses, gift bags, and visits by locally-elected officials.
Please join us for a community discussion on the how we as a community can better understand the challenges of addiction and what supports are available.
National Night out is a free family friendly event. The purpose of this event is to increase awareness about how to prevent crime and the use of illegal drugs in Somerville. There will be information distributed by local organizations that serve the Somerville community, free food, raffle prizes, and performances.

The Board of Alderman’s Health and Public Safety Committee will host a “myth-busting” lecture by urban rodent expert Bobby Corrigan, who also will take questions about rodent behavior and pest management. In 2008 Corrigan was hired to battle rodent infestation in New York City.
Due to wide-spread power outages in the City impacting the City Hall Annex electricity, there will be no public meeting of the Somerville Commission for Women. The next monthly meeting of the Commission will be August 17 at 7:00 P.M. in the City Hall Annex at 50 Evergreen Avenue (first floor conference room).
