Pursuant to Chapter 107 of the Acts of 2022, this meeting of the Somerville High School Building Committee will be conducted via remote participation.

Somerville has been announced as a host city on this year’s nationwide tour of The Moving Wall, a half-sized replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Moving Wall has been traveling to cities and towns across the country for nearly forty years to give those who can’t get to Washington a chance to experience the power of the memorial.

Free Citizenship Classes. Requirements: Basic Level of English and Legal Permanent Resident for 5 years or 3 Years, if married to an US Citizen.

The City of Somerville, the Somerville Museum, the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, and others will commemorate the Somerville’s Veterans buried or commemorated by the 1863 Civil War Monument.
Opening ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. The Moving Wall covers more than 252 feet from end to end and stands 6 feet tall at its highest point in the center. Its 74 separate frames display more than 58,000 names of American service members who died in the Vietnam War. Limited transportation available; transportation will leave from the Holland Street Senior Center at 9:00 am.

Somerville Prevention is excited to announce its upcoming Let’s Talk workshop. Having proactive prevention conversations with youth about substance misuse can be challenging for adult caregivers. Our goal is to increase comfort for caregivers around having productive, open, and non-judgmental conversations with youth about substances.
