Annual Observance of Memorial Day as we honor and remember our fallen heroes. 69 heroes from World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the 1983 Beirut Bombing are laid to rest here in the Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. This ceremony provides an opportunity for our City to come together the honor the service and sacrifice of all who serve.

Sponsored by the City of Somerville and stemming from the passage of Somerville's Urban Agriculture Ordinance, the first in New England, the 2019 Urban Ag Ambassador (UAA) program trains Somerville residents in urban agriculture in exchange for 30 hours of community volunteer service. The course is FREE of charge for accepted applicants.

Barbara Mangum, Objects Conservator and President of the Somerville Museum, Dressed in period clothing will highlight the work her firm recently completed with the City’s Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds. Many markers and the Civil War Monument were repaired, cleaned and reset in this compact burial ground. Founded in 1804 by Samuel Tufts it sits on farmland once part of Charlestown.
