Launched earlier this spring, SomerPlay is the City's newest innovative program encouraging community building in Somerville so as to increase the amount of time children play together within each neighborhood. It is based on author Mike Lanza's Playborhood.

Try out a cool form of poetry with fellow teens, choosing words you want
from a book page and blacking out the rest to create poetry.

Kids in Pre-K and olders are invited to join us in the Library yard for a
story or two, followed by a craft/activity. Please dress for mess! In case of bad weather, we'll move this event indoors.
Writing workshop with Somerville resident, Regina Hansen! During the
workshop, children will learn how to get ideas for stories, and will do
several journal exercises for writing. They will be able to read aloud
from their own mini stories. Mini stories will include 6-word short
stories and "perfect paragraph" stories. They will leave with their own
