Somerville-based synthesizer musician Robin Amos presents PKD, a multimedia suite inspired by the writing of Philip K. Dick. The discussion on the origins of the Cold War will trace the cultural, social, economic, political, and diplomatic components of the United States during the early years of the conflict beginning in 1945. We will examine the events of the mid-1940s that sowed the seeds of mistrust, suspicion, and tumult as both the American and Soviet blocs became more wary and more hostile towards each other.

The City of Somerville’s Prevention Services division, the Cambridge Health Alliance – City of Everett, the Town of Arlington’s Youth Health & Safety Coalition, and the Town of Lexington’s Human Services department secured the MassCALL3 grant for regional youth substance misuse prevention work, awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (MA-DPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) division.
