HONK! Festival of Activist Street Bands

The HONK! Festival, a music fest originally conceived and presented in 2006 right here in Somerville, caught on immediately in the local area. Since then HONK! has also become an international phenomenon.

The Somerville Mobile Farmers Market will begin its 2022 season on July 8th. The Somerville Mobile Farmers’ Market sells fresh, local produce in Somerville, MA. We offer an unlimited 50% discount for all who need it. We accept cash, debit, credit, SNAP, WIC Farmers’ Market Coupons, and Senior Farmers’ Market Coupons. All are welcome!

Movie Matinee (Council on Aging)

Showing will be: Hubie Halloween Starring: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Rob Schneider, June Squibb, Kenan Thompson, Shaquille O'Neal, Steve Buscemi, and Maya Rudolph.

The film follows a Halloween-loving delicatessen worker who must save the town of Salem, Massachusetts, from a kidnapper.

Lunch will be served after the movie; $2 per person.

The Somerville City Council’s Land Use Committee and the Somerville Planning Board will hold a joint public hearing on October 6 at 2022 at 6:30 pm. Pursuant to Chapter 107 of the Acts of 2022, this hearing will be conducted via remote participation.

Community Meeting: Envisioning 90 Washington Street

Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, the Office of Strategic Planning & Community Development, & the Capital Projects Division want to review the public feedback heard over last nine months about how to redevelop 90 Washington Street and outline how to move forward with the redevelopment of the City's property into the future home of the Public Safety Building and other uses as part of this community vision.

Traffic Commission Meeting

The Somerville Traffic Commission will host a special virtual meeting to review public comment and deliberate on the City’s new Draft Safety Plan for Holland Street.

Senior Flu Clinic

Somerville HHS is partnering with the Council on Aging to offer flu vaccines to Somerville seniors age 65+. This clinic will be held at the Council on Aging office at 167 Holland Street on Thursday, October 6th from 1-3pm. Please use the link below to register or call 311 for assistance.

Public Safety Building Committee Meeting

Pursuant to Chapter 107 of the Acts of 2022, this public meeting will be conducted via remote participation.

Updated COVID-19 Boosters Clinic

The updated COVID-19 booster is recommended for everyone aged 12 and older, at least two months after their last dose.

Lunch Club (Council on Aging)

Join the SCOA Lunch Club as we enjoy lunch at a different local restaurant each month. The Council on Aging will provide the transportation, lunch will be on your own.

Arts & Crafts (Council on Aging)

Crafting materials will be provided for both a Happy Halloween Sign and a Spooky Wreath; cost is $5 per person. Seating for crafts is limited.

Bowling (Council on Aging)
