For the first time, the Historic Preservation Commission will have Docent-led tours of the old Powder House, located between Ball Square and Teele Square.

There will be a slideshow and discussion about the economic history of Somerville’s oldest commercial district, Union Square. The discussion will profile some of the Square’s biggest employers beginning in the 1800's, including the meat-packing, glass-blowing, and textile finishing industries.

This is a music immersion class for those who have never played a woodwind instrument and would like to start, or have played in the past and are looking for an opportunity to play music again with others!
A public hearing for all interested parties will be held by the Design Review Committee.
Owners winning awards for work on their properties will be presented original art, AUTOCAD drawings, or woodburnings created by Somerville High School students in the Art Department, the Drafting and Pre-Engineering Program, or in the FabLab. The Awards Ceremony is preceded by a reception with light food and drinks. All are welcome to attend.
